London equities advanced in opening trade on Friday, with the FTSE 100 benchmark index of leading shares rising 0.42 percent to 5,766.06 points.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 gained 0.72 percent to 6,924.82 points and in Paris the CAC 40 won 0.92 percent to 3,413.49 points.
