From April 6-15 hybrid and electric vehicles, representing some of the latest advances in green motoring, will be on display at the prestigious New York International Auto Show in the United States. Following this auto exhibition, Earth Day on April 22 will bring together people from around the world in a global effort to raise awareness of climate change and the environmental issues facing the world today.
New York International Auto Show The final major auto show of the North American season, this event is a chance for the world's automakers to push out major debuts for the market that weren't quite ready in time for Detroit. The exhibition will showcase a number of electric and hybrid vehicles which visitors will be given the chance to test drive.
Earth Day is an international day of action designed to promote awareness of the Earth's climate and natural environment. Earth Day first began in 1970 in San Francisco and has been held every year since, growing into an international event with over 175 countries now taking part. The event encourages people to commit to ‘an act of green' as part of its ‘Billion Acts of Green Campaign' and numerous events are held in celebration of Earth Day around the world. The event is preceded by the WWF-organized event Earth Hour on March 31 which is designed to raise awareness of climate change.
Hannover Messe is one of the world's leading technology events, in terms of both size and market importance. Hannover Messe is an umbrella for eight different technology fairs, which this year include IndustrialGreenTec -- a new trade show for environmental technology. In addition to IndustrialGreenTec the recurrent theme throughout the whole of this year's Hannover Messe is "greentelligence," which covers sustainability trends and solutions for industrial production.
