Continued growth expected with the introduction of Frontier Airlines new service in May.

Passenger traffic at Lehigh Valley International Airport (LVIA) increased 8.81 percent in February, 2012 compared to the same time period last year. In February, 64,178 passengers traveled to and from LVIA during the month. Year-to-date 129,138 total passengers used the airport, up 7.19 percent compared to 2011 (an increase of 8,665 passengers).

The traffic leader in February was US Airways, with 17,663 passengers traveling to and from LVIA. Rounding out the other top airlines were Delta Air Lines (13,024), AirTran Airways* (12,425), United Airlines (11,426), and Allegiant Air (6,893).

“The strong increase in passenger traffic at Lehigh Valley International Airport is encouraging,” stated Charles R. Everett, Jr., Executive Director for the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority. "In fact, we look forward to continued growth with the introduction of Frontier Airlines new service to Orlando beginning May 26th.”
